Tara McPherson x Vinyl on Vinyl 2nd Anniversary Exhibit and Toy Release

Working on new drawings has kept me under the proverbial rock, so it took me a while to find out that Tara McPherson would be visiting Manila again (but not too late, at least). I stumbled across the announcement literally the night before the this exhibit. I was lurking on Tumblr and admiring photos from her latest group show in LA and wishing more artists would visit here. Shortly after, I saw the announcement from Vinyl on Vinyl and did a double-take, because it felt like a wish had been granted.

Exhibit night was wonderful! There was so much to see, and it was great having insightful discussions with other followers of Tara’s art over wine coolers. When Tara arrived at the gallery (wearing her characteristic pink and green) there was a moment where everyone hushed. I guess it was pretty surreal for all of us. Tension melted away when Tara flashed a smile as she made her way to her table.

I went home with a signed print of Weight of Water, Part 2 which was written out to me, and a lot of great memories and photos.
